Aide en anglais

Bonjour à tous et surtout à toutes les personnes qui m'ont aidé jusqu'à présent,

J'ai un nouveau texte en anglais à corriger. Je mis en place tous les conseils que j'ai reçu lors de ma dernière demande d'aide en anglais... et je peux vous confirmer que ça fonctionne. J'essaye de penser plus en anglais qu'en français. J'espère que ça va porter ces fruits. Le texte ci-dessous pourra peut-être le confirmer !

Dear Miss Manners,

First, I want to thank you for advices that you give us about etiquette and the comportment to have when we are in society.

I write this letter, because I want to receive some advice about a social situation, and especially on situation when we are invited by friends to take a supper at their home.

Etiquette wants that it is necessary to give a present to the hosts, but I have always some difficulties to know what I could offer to them. Maybe, it’s going to be different between each situation. If I write you about this invitation, could you give me an advice with the choice of the gift ? Generally, When we have received an invitation, we used to bring a bottle of wine.

In fact, we have been invited by good friends to their wedding anniversary. It is their tenth years of wedding. It will be organized at their home and there will be around thirty people. In case that there are not a presents’ list, I would like to know that is the best gift among the following ones :

- Flowers,
- Wines or Champagne,
- Decoration for their home,
- Chocolates or candies,
- Card with a amount of money.

This is my choice and my idea. I must find a gift which will please our friends and I think that I don’t need to offer an exceptional present.

It is the first time that we are invited to a party for wedding anniversary, and I would not want to offer a gift which will not conform to the tradition. More, I don’t know well the other people who will be going to the party, and I couldn’t ask them what sort of present they will bring. It is why I shall like receiving your help.

To have a last advice, will it be necessary that my husband wear a suit and a tie, and for me a cocktail dress ? We have received a formal invitation, with a Bristol, for this party.

I would appreciate that you sent me your advices and your help as soon as possible, because the party it will be on the end of July.
