je dois écrire une histoire policière en anglais et je voudrais savoir si ces expressions sont bien traduits :

la salle d'à côté : the room next door
c'est ainsi : that's how
Elle a réussi à faire fuir le cambrioleur : She managed to scare the burglar off // She got through by scaring the burglar off = Elle s'en est tiree en effrayant le voleur
les futur mariés ne veulent pas importuner leurs invités : the couple to be wed don't want to bother the guests // the couple didn't want us to do so in regards for their guests

= le couple ne voulait pas que nous le fassions du fait de leur invites

Pour ceux qui veulent lire le texte que j'écrit :

I went to the wedding of my friend. I saw the inspector Takagi. He said he was investigating on a case and he told me about it :
« - Five days ago, a hooded burglar broke in the bride's house. She got through by scaring the burglar off (1) who said while leaving the house : « You … shall pay for all of this ». This thief wasn't a ordinary one. The burglar's fingerprints matched with those of a serial killer that was supposedly to be involved in four other murder cases. He had already taken five lives away.
- Did the criminal wear gloves ?
- Yes but in the break-in before the bride's, we found fingerprints on at the scene.The murderer put his left hand on the victim's mouth when he wanted to slit her throat. The victim bit his hand and removed his glove. And as he held her down again with his bare hand, he touched her earring. So we just have his left hand's fingerprints. At the bride's house's break-in, the serial killer burglar (2) didn't wear gloves and he left the knike he used to threaten the bride. That's how we've had the serial killer burglar 's fingerprints.
- Did you take the guests' fingerprints ?
- No, the couple didn't want us to do so in regards for their guests, Detective Hattori. However we have an other clue. The bride saw a stye on the criminal's right eye. But those heal after a week. We can not know if the criminal still has a stye.
- There is an other solution. The couple are asked to observe the room where the guests were are gathered in order to find an unknown face among them. For their security, they will observe the guests from the room next door.

The inspector Takagi made the bridegroom come into the room next to the one where the guests were. The couple didn't recognize three men. I observed them and I immediately guessed who was the serial killer burglar (2)². I explained to the inspector :
« - I know who the criminal is
- Really ?
- The dark-skinned man is wearing sunglasses that can mean he is trying to hide his stye. And he also has a plaster on his left hand. He might not want to leave his fingerprints."
The inspector got permission of from the couple to interrogate the suspect. After the interrogations, we knew he was the culprit. And the wedding unfolded without further incidents.
