    Rentrer son produit (PC Portable), sa série (pour moi A7 Series), son modèle (pour moi A7C), puis cliquer sur rechercher.

    Une fenêtre apparaît et vous sélectionnez votre système d'exploitation (pour moi Vista 32bit), puis vous cliquer encore sur rechercher.

    L'ensemble des téléchargements disponibles pour votre ordinateur apparaissent.
    Sélectionner Utilitaires et vous pouvez télécharger SPLENDID Utility.

    Une fois installé, plus de message d'erreur "ACMON a cesse de fonctionner".

    The ACMON.exe program is a monitoring program that is running in the background to detect when a Windows video rendering is used, that targets the screen (including a virtual one, for example to a remote RDP session) ; it then tries to insert betwen the video decoding source and the target screen device an additional filter implemented in "RGBtran.ax" (installed with the Asus "Splendid Video" optional software), whose role will be to adjust the conversion from the YUV or RGB output of the video decoder to the RGB colr space of the screen device, in order to match its effective color profile. This tool comes with several ICM color profiles made to match specific displays made by Asus or incuded in its notebooks and barebones.

    One problem is that the "RGBtran.ax" filter seems to work well for Windows Media Player, as long as you are only using ONE codec (a video decoder), but not several codecs at the same time in the same chain (for example when transcoding a video from one format to another, such as converting MPEG2 to MPEG4 or H.264 or into another container format that the source AVI or MPEG or Matroska/WebM... Many transcoding tools will fail, including in some cases when using the Windows Performance Tool (WinSAT) that evaluates the compatility of the video drivers and devices and its performances (internally, this test decodes a video and generate a virtual output to a null sink device emulating a screen.

    Many video converters are assuming that the computed output generated from one filter will be exactly the same one as the one presented to the next connected filter (notably when computig buffer sizes or when assuming specific color spaces). The ACMON.Exe dynamically adjusts the chain of video filters just as they are already playing, and it aso breaks the multithreading isolation model. In addition, there are cases where it inserts the RGBTran.ax filter twice, and apparently this filter is not compatible with all isolation models, and fails miserably on multicore CPUs (such as Intel Core i7): the operations that ACMON.exe perform to modify the chains of video filters used in other running process are not atomic.

    I had to completely uninstall this "Asus Splendid Video Enhancement" tool, due to too many bugs and severe system hangs and crashes (in addition it is completely incompatible with newer video drivers from ATI CAtalyst, which includes its own video enhancement named "AVIVO", which works much better, without using ACMON.Exe (instead it uses the ATI Catalyst Control Center Monitor).

    This tool will just make the video rendering performing slower frame rates or using more CPU and memory resources (due to the presence of the additional filter with its own internal buffers). In addition the ACMON.exe program adds to the Windows boot time, and it also currently ignores flags that are specified by the application using videos, to not alter the color spaces or color depths, and it will sometimes generate an output in a RGB format not supported by the application in the filters inserted after it (apparently ACMON.exe incorrectly analyzes the video filter chains, or assumes that these chains will not be modified when the application is running).

    Forget this tool ! You don't need it on your PC, as there are better ineroperable solutions available now in most popular media players. The simple fact that it can make the system very instable or crash at any time in DirectX applications (including the Windows Explorer when using Aero, or when evaluating the Aero compatibility with WinSAT) militates for uninstalling it.

    If you intend to ugrade your video drivers with those from AT Catalyst (which are newer than those in Asus support download), you should uninstall this ASUS "Splendid Video" tool as it will cause severe system crashes : the system can even hang just when displaying the Windows logon screen. For me, the ASUS "Splendid Video" tool is completely bogous. To uninstall it completely, download the tool from the Asus support, then try running it to install it, then rerun it to force its complete uninstallation (the system will reboot each time): you actually don't need this tool as its role is ONLY to adjust the color profiles for rendering the source YUV or sRGB colors to the color profile of the RGB screen... Most modern video converters or renderers already contain their own controls for adjusting color profiles.

    Je vous dis si cela règle le problème (la version a 4ans quand même). Personnellement j'ai le même message d'erreur sur un Asus X72JT acheté il y a moins de 3 mois.


    Edit : Finalement il ne veut pas l'installer sans désinstaller la nouvelle version. J'ai peur de créer des problème en la désinstallant, je laisse donc comme c'était T.T

Je me permets de vous écrire pour vous faire part de mon désespoir, je vous explique, j'ai acheté un ordinateur ASUS aujourd'hui le modèle c'est (je vous met exactement ce qu'il y a marqué) : ASUS Notebook K72JU, K72JT series système d'exploitation 64 bits et dès que je l'ai démarré il y a eut marqué "ACMON ERROR" alors j'ai lu les solutions que vous apportiez malheureusement sur le site ASUS je ne trouve pas le fichier à télécharger et d'ailleurs quel modèle(ou série) est mon p.c vu qu'il y a deux dénomination?? J'espère que vous pourrez m'aider!

    Ok moi je suis pouri avec mon asus c'est un model Asus notebook G60VX et j'ai la fenetre Acmon error qui s'affiche au demarrage. Que dois-je downloader? Ca commence surement a etre redondant mais bon j'ai eus assez de problemes avec cet ordi je ne veux pas empirer les choses. Merci

    Je ne trouve pas SPLENDID Utility sur le site de téléchargement ASUS pour ce modèle.
    Que dois-je faire ?

    un peu de différence chez moi jais le même pc x72jt avec le message de ACMON sauf que mon pc se bloque et je ne peux plus rien faire a part leteindre en restant appuyer sur le bouton . Pourriez vous m'aider s'il vous plait???
