Bonjour,
National Gallery
The National Gallery is op
en every day:
-from monday till saturday, it's open from ten o'clock till eighteen
o'clock except
ed the friday because
it clos
es at twenty-one
o'clock.
-
on sunday, from
two o'clock till
six o'clock.
The National Gallery is closed the first of january, the good friday, the first monday of may and form
the twenty-four
to the twenty-six
th of december.
The mains paintings are "Le chapeau de Paille" by Pierre Paul Rubens and two self-portraits by rembrandt. We can see some european master's paintings and some italian's paintings from
the renaissance.
Trafalgar square
Even though Trafalgar square, as it is now, date
s from the nineteen
th century
, it's Nash who, in 1820, imagin
ed Trafalgar square and it's Charles Berry who, twenty year
s after, build the place.
The famous place of London, in front of
the National Gallery, tak
es its name from the
sea battle won by Nelson. It's the reason there is, at the center of the place, a Nelson's
statue who measur
es fifty metres. Below, we
also can see four lions and some fountains. Finally, we see a little church on a place : Saint Martin-in-the-fields.
Merci d'avance.
