Ladies and gentleman, members of the jury, we are present today to judge Tomas's case.
I going to quickly remember you the facts. Tomas is a Twelfth (12th) student in Alabama hight scool. He had a handgun into his school
He had fired twice to show his friends how his gun function before the guard came.
A teenager who comes to school with a weapon!!!?? I think that is irresponsible and not be unaware of danger. Fortunately nobody was injured but school isn't a suitable place to sell this kind of object. But we can imagine, a poor vision, a moment of carelessness , bad shot try, a general panic students could have hurt someone or worse kill someone.
Tomas argues that he wanted to sell his gun, but he could have do it in another place, now because high schools in Alabama, he violating the law who say that in the state, the Gun-Free School Areas are prohibited. And he knew it.
believe that guns create violence: people tend to solve problems more with guns , and teeneagers can use them to express their anger, this has tend to a number of massacres in school.
We all know that in our country, school shootings are frequent, the massacres at Virginia Tech with thirty-three (33) deaths and colubine (thirteen 13 people dead and 24 wounded twenty-four) are of course those which we believe in first .
Do you think that school is a place appropriate to sell this kind of thing?
