Forum Etudes / Travail : Besoin d'un correction pour mon exposé (Anglais)
Hello hello
J'ai choisis de présenter Charle De Gaulle, est-ce possible de me corriger mon devoir? Ou si vous avez des sujétions (ou autres)...
Merci
Incarnation of resistance during the Second World war, “right man for the job” during the War of Algeria and principal actor of the construction of the Fifth Republic, the general De Gaulle incarnated French during many years.
An education traditionalist
Charles De Gaulle was born in Lille on November 22, 1890. He receives his family a catholic education; patriotism, admiration of Ancien Régime and scholarship constitute the principal values. Directing itself quickly towards a military career, it enters to the school of Saint-Cyr military school at 18 years.
An impassioned soldier
At its exit in 1912, it chooses the infantry which it considers “more military”. Some month after the beginning of the Large War, it is promoted captain. It then shows a sharp engagement at the time of the engagements. Wounded twice and decorated with the Military Cross, it is finally made prisoner in 1916 at the end of a courageous battle with Verdun. It multiplies the escape bids which balance all by failures. It will be finally released at the end of the war. It then leaves to fight in Poland against the Soviet Russia.
The Call of June 18
When the combat of the Second World war begin in May 1940, the colonel De Gaulle is named with the head of an armoured division and is distinguished while carrying out against attacks effective in Montcornet. Very quickly, Paul Reynaud, president of the Council, give him a station with the Ministry for Defense. When Pétain signs peace, it selected the exile in England to be able to continue the combat. Become general, of Gaulle the marshal defies while launching on June 18 his famous call in which it invites to continue the combat against the forces of the Axis. Whereas it manages to rejoin certain colonies, it unifies interior resistance via the former prefect Jean Moulin. The Allies recognize in 1943 the French Committee of national release (CFLN), just created by Giraud and De Gaulle, like their only French interlocutor.
“Released Paris”
A few days after the unloading in Normandy, De Gaulle pronounces a acclaimed speech. But especially, on August 26, 1944 it makes a triumph in Paris when it descends the Champ-Élysées and uses of its talent of speaker. It pronounces its famous sentence: “Paris violated, Paris broken, Paris martyred, but Paris liberated” As of on September 3, it takes the head of the provisional government which must face delicate missions. But the constitution which prepares directs French towards a parliamentary system which hardly flatters the presidential design of the capacity of Gaulle. It thus resigns on January 20, 1946, exposes its point of view at the time of the Conference of Bayeux to next June. Finally, it melts the Gathering of the French People (RPF) in April 1947. Initially very influential, the party quickly declines and pleasing of Gaulle to withdraw political life in 1953.
Birth of the Fifth Republic
In 1958, the events of Algeria precipitate the return of the General on the front of the scene. It then charges Michel Debré with writing a new constitution which it makes approve by referendum in next September. In January 1959, he becomes president of French from now on under the mode of the Fifth Republic. He must then manage a political and monetary crisis. This second finds a response with the installation of new Frank in 1960. As for the crisis of Algeria, the way of the payment will be longer and will lead finally to the agreements of Evian on March 18, 1962.
Independence of Algeria to the independence of French
Whereas the independence of Algeria is effective, De Gaulle encounters difficulties in domestic policy but manages to affirm itself in term of foreign policy. On the international level, De Gaulle his vision of French imposes which he wants émanciper his old Allies. Independence with respect to the United States is one of its privileged topics. That leads it to make leave France NATO in 1966.
May 68
Whereas the Thirty Glorious ones and the Baby-boom deeply modified the company, the Parisian students start at the end of March 1968 of the demonstrations and blockings of university. De Gaulle thus a speech of firmness pronounces and invites to express to be able it in place. The mobilization which follows this call is a success, but the deferment which it obtained will last only one year. On April 27, at the time of a referendum on the regionalization, which it presents itself like a plebiscite, the French vote against the law and the man. De Gaulle resigns as of the following day and leaves on a journey to Ireland before spending the last year of its life to Colombey-the-Two-Churches.
Answering the call of the History at the time of the Second World war, it joined in a few years the historical statute of character. This man, who lorgnait traditionally towards the glorious past of Europe and French of Ancien Régime, was finally caught up with by modernity. Former apostle of the mobile warfare in conflict with the conservatives, it became with the eyes of youth the symbol of the opposition to progress.
