Overnet 0.52

Une nouvelle version de ce client p2p vient de sortir. Pour rappel, ce logiciel permet de se connecter au réseau eDonkey sans passer par un serveur.

Liste des changements:
- zlib Server support
- Support for other protocols. Any one can now plugin any type of other download protocol. Gnutella, Fastrack, bittorrent, etc.
- Sources can be limited per download. See Options | Advanced
- vq command changed, new options
(none) just the number on queue, verbose old output, summary list of files and a number of people on queue
- Win98 Crash on exit fixed
- "banner" command expanded. Now sends us an email with the contents of the file in question so
we can fix it easier. Use this on banners which violate our policies (roll overs, sounds, etc)
- columns will expand with a tooltip to show hidden data on mouse over if enabled (advanced)
- Media Player Disabled loading of the player at startup due to random crashes with certain combinations of settings. Drag and drop onto the image to load up WMP (also saves on ram when not using it)
- Stats Can clear global uptime
- Fixed some random crashes.

Voilà.

sur cette page http://www.overnet.com/downloads.php ils disent quil fo avoir la version pro (donc payante) pour pas avoir de spywares :-o

bonjour a tous, je c ke bcp de gens sont un peu paranos avec le p2p a cause d'un eventuel espionnage des autorités et donc d'eventuelles poursuites. ce n'est po mon cas mais g choppé le texte suivant sur le net (via overnet v. o.52):

Some apparently leaked information has come to our attention and if it’s true, using Overnet could put you in jail!

Allegedly the maker of edonkey who goes by the name Swampy was busted by the Fed’s a couple of months ago. As a part of a plea bargain to keep himself out of jail he agreed to let them have full access rights to his web site. Swampy did NOT create Overnet the Fed’s did however by appending Swampy’s name to it and distributing it via his web site meant it would be trusted through out the community. They used Microsoft’s .net software on purpose because it easily and secretly allows them to track users based on IP and Mac addresses via a special proxy server, It logs what their sharing and what their downloading each time they connect to Overnet. This information is also passed on to otherlaw enforcement agencies world wide.Overnet is NOT server less as it claims; the GUI just hides them along with many hidden features like the proxy server connection. They only want you to see what they want you to see.

Bottom line is if you already use or have used Overnet they already know who you are where you are and what you have done. Could be only a matter of time before they come a knocking!
